Yetzenia Lopez, diagnosed at 30
I was diagnosed with lupus in 2017 on my 30th birthday. Since I was a little girl, I’ve always been sick with stomach aches and fatigue. The year prior to receiving my lupus diagnosis, my symptoms started to get worse with GI issues, rashes on my skin and scalp, chest pain and trouble breathing. I went to multiple doctors and felt like my concerns were being ignored. I was misdiagnosed several times. One day, I was in my kitchen. I felt weak and passed out. I went to the emergency room, where one of the nurses suggested I had lupus.
